Application for assistance from the customs authorities in case of suspicion of infringement of intellectual property rights

The Norwegian Customs Service can detain suspected pirated copies of, among other things, a trademark, design or patent. If, as the owner of such rights, you suspect that they have been infringed, you can send an application for assistance to Norwegian Customs.

Note: An update of this article is pending. Please note that some terms and/or references may differ from the Movement of Goods Act and the Customs Duty Act that enters into force from the 1st of January 2023.

Chapter 15 of the Customs Act on intellectual property rights will be amended from 1 July 2021. From the same date, you apply for assistance in Altinn.

Please note that the Altinn forms are currently only available in Norwegian. However, english guides for the Altinn forms can be found below.

You can find the application form here.
