Certificate of Origin

Norwegian Customs offers digital issuing of non preferential Certificate of Origin (CoO).

Note: An update of this article is pending. Please note that some terms and/or references may differ from the Movement of Goods Act and the Customs Duty Act that enters into force from the 1st of January 2023.

Exporters and freight forwarders must log in to altinn.no, complete the form and the Certificate will be processed electronically.

A completed Certificate with date, customs stamp and signature, as well as archive reference, will then be made available for printing and signing by the exporter.

Certificate of Origin is a proof of origin used for goods that have non-preferential origin. It is used, for example, in connection with licensing and veterinary regulations in the importing country. This is a non-preferential proof of origin and thus does not provide any customs benefits in the importing country.

As the Certificate of Origin is digital, the Norwegian Customs will no longer stamp Certificate of Origin.

In the Norwegian version of this article you may also find a user guide on how to complete the form on altinn.no.
