Reimbursement of VAT to tourists You may have VAT reimbursed when you buy goods in Norway and bring them with you when leaving the country. This only applies to individuals who are resident abroad.
Fish quota If you have fished under the auspices of a registered tourist fishing camp, the export quota is maximum 18 kilos of fish or fish products, provided that the organized fishing can be documented. You must have caught the fish yourself.
Travelling with medicines When travelling to Norway, you may bring medicines for personal use. There are limits to the amounts you can bring with you.
Travelling with pets If you are travelling with pets to or from Norway, you should contact the Norwegian Food Safety Authority prior to the trip in order to establish which rules apply.
Travelling with expensive items When travelling from and returning to Norway with an expensive item, it is advantageous to be able to document that the item was in your possession when you left Norway. This may by documented with an identification certificate.
Travelling with cultural monuments and antiques It is not permitted to import or export antiques or objects with special artistic, cultural or historical value without a special permit.
Travel out of Norway with firearms If you intend to travel with firearm(s) to another EEA country, you can apply for a European Firearms Pass. If you are travelling outside the EEA, you must submit a declaration (a temporary exportlicence) to Norwegian Customs at the border.
