Processing of Personal Data in Chat and Chatbot

Before you start the chat, please read the Norwegian Customs privacy policy, which describes how we process your information.

To protect your privacy, it is important that you do not enter personal data that could identify you or others in the chat. Personal data includes, for example, name, date of birth, address, case number, and health information.

You will first interact with the chatbot Tolliver, but during opening hours, you can proceed to chat with a representative if available.

Storage and Deletion

We store chat interactions to improve the chatbot Tolliver:

  • Questions asked in the chatbot are stored for 30 days.
  • If you have chatted with the chatbot, your questions are stored for 30 days. The dialogue, including responses and choices made, is not stored.
  • If you have chatted with a representative, the conversation is stored for 31 days and then automatically deleted.
  • All numerical data in the chatbot is anonymized. This means that if you enter, for example, a personal identification number, it will be deleted from the chatbot. In the chat with a representative, numbers are not automatically deleted.
