Road transport drivers using Digitoll have various solutions available at customs offices along the border. Some locations are equipped with cameras and/or tablets that provide red or green routing signals. At other locations, drivers must enter the customs office and present the vehicle's registration number.
Ørje and Svinesund → Camera and Tablet
Drivers entering Norway via Svinesund or Ørje will primarily encounter cameras that read the vehicle's license plates (ANPR cameras) and display light signals. If the light showsgreen, the transport can continueinto Norway.If the light showsred, the driver must report to the customs office. In case of camera malfunction, tablets are available as a backup solution. Drivers can enter the registration number on the tablet and receive a green or red routing signal.
Eda (Road), Hjortnes (Ferry), and Larvik (Ferry) → Tablet
Vehicles arriving in Norway at these locations can use a tablet if they are usingDigitoll. The driver should enter the customs office,input the vehicle’s registration number on the tablet, andreceive a green or red routing signal.If the signalshows green, the transport can continue into Norway.If the signal shows red, the driver must report to the customs office.
Other border stations → Report to the customs office
At other border crossing sites where there are neither tablets nor ANPR cameras, drivers must report to the customs office.They should inform the customs officer that they are usingDigitoll and present the vehicle’s registration number. The customs officer will then inform the driverwhether it is okay to proceed or if there are any missing documents or similar issues.
